Ahmad Hicks is an American journalist currently working as a sports reporter/ host for FOX 9’s KMSP-TV since October 2022. He was involved in sports in his early childhood and knew he wanted his career to keep him close to the action. His dream came true this past hockey season as he followed the St. Louis Blues en route to their first-ever Stanley Cup title.

Hicks is a graduate of Kirkwood High School and Southern Illinois University, Carbondale (SIUC), and received a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in journalism with a minor in radio-television, psychology, and digital media. Moreover, he was a member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and a member of the SIUC, Salukis football team. Hicks was as well a campus desk writer for the daily Egyptian Carbondale newspaper and a student worker for Paul Simon Public Policy Institute.
His first broadcasting job was in WBBJ7 Eyewitness News in Jackson, Tennessee, as a sports director, anchor, and multimedia journalist. He produced, filmed, and edited content for 6:00, 6:30 & 10 p.m. weekday sportscasts. Hicks later returned home to St. Louis and joined the KSDK – 5 On Your Side Sports team in October 2018 and moved to Fox 9 in October 2022. Before Minnesota, Hicks spent four years in his hometown of St. Louis, working for 5 On Your Side, where he was Emmy-nominated for his reporting role during the St. Louis Blues’ Stanley Cup run in 2019. Before working for KSDK and WBBJ7 Eyewitness News, he was a pre-loader in Greater St. Louis Area and a driver helper in South County for UPS trucks. Ahmad was also a news intern at KTVI-FOX 2 in St. Louis where he performed daily tasks of helping the 9 a.m. morning crew get prepared for the show. From April 2012 to December 2015, Hicks was a Logistics Coordinator at Dent Express in Manchester, Missouri.
