She attended the University of Central Missouri where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Media in 2005. She also attended Lindenwood University where she obtained her Master’s in Digital Communication and Multimedia in 2008. Jayanth started her career in journalism as an intern at WGN TV in February 2007. She then joined KPLR 11 in St. Louis as a Feature Reporter in June 2007. She was nominated for an Emmy for a pop story, shedding light on ‘Sistakeeper’, a women’s empowerment program.
Afterward, she joined the crew at WMDT 47 News in Maryland as a News Anchor and Reporter in July 2008. Jayanth received two AP Awards for covering documentaries on the homeless and a series “Delmarva’s Unsolved Crimes”. She later joined ABC 22/ FOX 45 in Dayton as a Reporter and Fill-in Anchor in July 2011. She covered everything from breaking news to the enforcement of Ohio’s exotic animal law.
