Art Rascon is an American news anchor working for ABC13, which is a Disney-owned KTRK in Houston, Texas.  Before joining  KTRK, Art worked as a CBS News correspondent on assignments basically in international reporting for the Evening News. He worked together with Dan Rather and 48 Hours.

 Battle with Covid- 19

On Friday, January 15, 2021, Art shared with his fans his experience with Coid-19 where he said it was unfortunate that he had not been spared by the virus. He thanked all that were praying and walking with him through the journey to recovery, Art Rascon said he was isolated but due to the love given to him by his sweetheart, Patti, he was going on well and that he would recover quickly. A regional leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Texas is continuing to recover from this battle gradually, his breathing has really improved.

Rascon went to Brigham Young University and afterward did additional studies on European Politics in Madrid, Spain. Being an Emmy award-winning reporter, he joined ABC13 in September 1998, at the moment, he serves as an anchor of the 11 am 5 pm, and 6 pm newscasts. Before then, Art was a reporter, producer, and anchor in San Antonio, El Paso, Abilene, and Salt Lake City.

Rascon has won 20 Emmys and has been nominated for 27. He has received more than 36 other local and national reporting awards like two Edward R. Murrow awards, and three National Association of Hispanic Journalists’ awards, to name but a few. He has also won more than 12 outstanding reporting awards from Press Clubs in Miami, Houston, and Los Angeles.
