Puente went to Syracuse University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Communication. Further, she received her Master of Science in Geosciences with an emphasis on meteorology from Mississippi State University. She currently works at FOX 5 in New York where she succeeded WWOR-TV veteran meteorologist Storm Field in January 2007 as the station’s main meteorologist. Puente served in that capacity until WWOR canceled the evening newscast in July 2013. Ever since Audrey has been the weekend meteorologist at WNYW since late 2012. In addition, she is the station’s main fill-in meteorologist.
Before coming to FOX 5, Audrey was providing the weather forecasts for WCBS-TV’s Channel 2 News This Morning and CBS 2 News at Noon. She was replaced by John Elliott who was hired by the station on January 1, 2007. Before joining WCBS, Puente was working as a weekend morning meteorologist for WNBC, she joined the station in 1999. In addition, Puente was working at WJCL and WTGS television in Savannah, Georgia, in the mid-1990s.
