Among the major breaking News Charly has covered are, wildfires, storms, and serial shootings, among other news stories coming out of Arizona. Her job is to shoot, write and edit all of her stories. She actually enjoys working both in front and behind the camera. When she was working at the station’s Northern Arizona bureau in Flagstaff, Edsitty was in the middle of some of the state’s largest snow storms and wildfires. She also provided leading coverage of the deadly campus shooting at Northern Arizona University as well as the murder of American humanitarian Kayla Mueller by ISIS.
During her stay at Phoenix, Charly dug into documents surrounding the deadly “serial street shooter” and broke many major developments in an ongoing sexual assault investigation involving a prominent high school football team. As a proud member of the Navajo Nation, one of the largest Native American tribes in the country, Charly also shone a light onto the most overlooked issues affecting tribal communities, like a piece focused on missing and murdered Indigenous women.
