Although Craig is an award-winning journalist, his journey did not follow the traditional route of his newsroom colleagues. For, he first spent nine years in the United States Air Force. His first tour was dedicated to Law Enforcement where he served both stateside and abroad. Further, he cross-trained in Broadcast Journalism for the second half of his Air Force career. He worked overseas Reporting and Anchoring for Air Force News.
Craig got his first job as a civilian when he worked as an Editor at KPNX in Phoenix, Arizona. Well, he knew it was just the first of many steps ahead and after some months he took to the Phoenix skies. He was Reporting from the KPNX Helicopter. Further, he spent 3 years at KFMB News working as a weekend anchor and reporter. Craig also worked as an editor, then a Photojournalist, and Reporter, then grew to a News Anchor. The journey in his career made him move from the mountains of West Virginia to the shores of San Diego, California. And, finally to the cold winters of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
In 2015 he moved to Cincinnati at WCPO TV9 as the Evening Anchor for the 5 pm, 6 pm, and 11 pm shows where he works to date. Of all the places he has worked, McKee says that the best place for him and his family to live and relax in Cincinnati. He adds that his colleagues at WCPO are amazing, and they are a super team to work with. During his free time, he enjoys volunteering his time with different organizations to help others.
