Heather Hays is an Emmy and Murrow award-winning journalist serving as an anchor on KDFW FOX 4 News at 5, 6, and 9 on weeknights. Do you recall the high school exam you took to determine what you should do with your life when you grow up? Well, Hays took the exam in Houston, her native home. Hays said she had a “Yeah, right” moment after seeing the results. An anchor could never be someone who skipped classes when the teachers announced there would be an oral presentation. She nearly wasn’t, too.

Hays is currently serving as a FOX 4 News contributor. Hays received a BS in Behavioral Sciences in May from the Chaminade University of Honolulu with the intention of becoming a sports psychologist. But once Heather was named Miss Hawaii USA, she had a fantastic year, appearing alongside celebrities like Kenny Loggins and Bob Hope for causes like the Peanut Butter Ministry and Child Abuse Prevention. After participating in Miss USA (and losing to her close friend Shannon Marketic! ), Hays earned her Master’s in Television and Film from Boston University.
Hays’s first “real job” was as “Heather with the Weather” in Yakima, Washington. Green Bay Packers territory is the next stop!
Even though Heather loves the Cowboys dearly, there is something unique about attending a game at Lambeau Field when it is snowing and 10 degrees below zero. Additionally, Hays had the opportunity to cover the Packers’ Super Bowl triumph in New Orleans and subsequent championship run in San Diego. Her passion for the game has long been a source of contention for Mike Doocy. During football season, Hays makes her NFL predictions on “Football Sunday” along with Mike and the rest of the sports crew. She won the title of champion three times in a row. That’s basically a Super Bowl three-peat, I guess!
