Jim Donovan is an American fifteen-time Emmy Award-winning journalist currently working as a news anchor at CBS 3 Eyewitness News This Morning newscast on 4:30 to 7 a.m. weekdays and Noon. He joined On Your Side consumer reporter in 2004 and in April 2016 and stepped up to the anchor desk relaunching the station’s morning newscast.

Jim joined WNBC-TV, the NBC flagship station in New York City, as a research coordinator where his aviation experience was to good use earning him his first Emmy Award for an investigative report on plane crash survival. Donovan went to network programming in 1994, joining NBC’s cable network, CNBC as an investigative producer and consumer reporter for Steals & Deals. Moreover, he developed his passion for consumer advocacy and his work earned him a National Cable Ace nomination allowing him to contribute reports for NBC’s Today Show. Later in 1997, Donovan left to start an investigative unit at WGHP-TV a Fox Television station in High Point, North Carolina.

In 2000, Jim was hired by WBNS-TV, a CBS affiliate in Columbus, Ohio where he served as the station’s lead consumer reporter. He earned an Emmy Award and an additional five Emmy nominations for his consumer investigations and reporting. His expertise in consumer issues is put to use at KYW-TV as he developed the 3-On Your Side consumer unit. Jim initiated a fundraising phone bank where CBS 3 viewers donated over $1 million over the course of two days to assist with the Red Cross relief effort. As an active volunteer, Donovan volunteers his time to numerous local charities like MANNA, CARIE, and the Mazzoni Center. Back in 2015, he was inducted into the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia’s Hall of Fame.
