Lokay went to the California University of Pennsylvania where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. He later started his journalism career as a reporter and editor for Metro Networks in Pittsburgh. There he anchored, edited, and also reported morning news segments for local radio stations. He further spent two years at Syracuse New York-based news 10 where he anchored evening newscasts and reported.
In 2015, Jim moved to Pittsburgh as a reporter for KDKA-TV. There he worked as the station’s traffic reporter, transportation reporter, general assignment reporter, and a fill-in-anchor on many newscasts. Apart from reporting and anchoring, Lokay also hosted or co-hosted a variety of non-news programs at KDKA like, “Pittsburgh Today Live”‘ the “Hines Ward Show,” “Steelers Huddie,” a New Years’ Eve special, and the station’s annual “Freecare Fund Telethon. Jim also worked as an occasional talk radio host at CBS-owned and operated KDKA-TV was October 14, 2011. Lokay started at WCVB-TV in October 2011. There he worked as a weekday morning general assignment reporter and weekend morning anchor. He later left WCVB-TV IN October 2015. In November 2015, he joined Fox 5 where he is still currently working as a Sports and news hybrid anchor and reporter, we have not received any news of him leaving Fox 5 so far.
