Previously, Joe worked as a Chief Meteorologist at KOSA-TV in Midland, Texas for a period of six years.
Lauria’s career started after graduating from Saint Louis University and later joined WCEE-TV in Mt. Vernon, Illinois where he worked as the Chief Meteorologist. In addition, Joe worked at KFKF-FM in Kansas City and at WAYK-TV in Orlando, Florida where he worked as a Chief Meteorologist.
Lauria has won the award of the best Weathercaster of the year in Texas by the Associated Press. Additionally, Joe was awarded the Seal of Approval for excellence in weather broadcasting at KC Chapter where he was voted as the president of the American Meteorological Society three times, a member of the National Weather Association, and was the vice-president of the AMS from 2008 to 2013.
Furthermore, he was awarded the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist from the AMS which is the highest honor of a TV meteorologist. He aids the young and old to interpret the weather through Severe weather seminars and speeches. In his free time away from his official duties, he loves playing golf, sports, visiting great Italian restaurants, and traveling. Lauria is also an active volunteer and fundraiser of the golf local charities and community through playing golf.
