After high school, Lourdeswent to DePaul University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in arts and communications. Duarte worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor for WJBK-TV, the Fox affiliate in Detroit, Michigan for three years. Afterward, she joined WXIN-TV in Indianapolis where she worked as a reporter for two years.
