After high school, Lourdeswent to DePaul University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in arts and communications. Duarte worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor for WJBK-TV, the Fox affiliate in Detroit, Michigan for three years. Afterward, she joined WXIN-TV in Indianapolis where she worked as a reporter for two years. In addition, Lourdes launched and hosted the station’s public affairs program by the name “Hoy en Dia,” while working there.
Also, Lourdes at one time worked at WHOI-TV and at Metro Networks in Miami, Florida for radio stations WLRN-FM and WTMI-FM as a reporter.
