Danielle Lambert happily married her queer husband Wyatt Paige Hermansen at Enchanted Gables in Oakland, Maine, in 2002. It was an overall gender-neutral ceremony after four years of dating. Mary said that being gay did not conflict with Christianity and that it is directly opposed to the Christian message. However, Mary wore a sparkly Essense of Australia dress for the occasion from Kleinfeld in New York City, while Hermansen, got her burnt orange suit from a Brooklyn-based company called Bindle & Keep.

The wedding ceremony was officiated by their close friend Leslie Yingling. They exchanged thin gold bands with an ivy vine design and three small diamonds from a local jeweler Rebekah Brooks. She later moved to Seattle in 2007 to study at Cornish College of the Arts graduating with a Bachelor of Music in composition.
