Morgan Palmer is an American journalist currently working as the chief meteorologist at KIRO 7 Weather News Team forecasting on Weeknights at 5, 5:30, 6, 7 and 11 p.m. since October 2015. Previously, he was a weekend morning meteorologist for KIRO 7 Eyewitness News weekdays 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. and Noon since November 2014 to October 2015. Palmer joined the station as a meteorologist in April 2011 and worked previously as a meteorologist at WBBH/WZVN, Waterman Broadcasting Of Florida LLC in Fort Myers Florida.

Palmer is an alum of Mississippi State University where he studied Meteorology and was a member of the Mississippi State Broadcast Meteorology Program. Moreover, Morgan also enrolled at The University of Texas at Austin graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism. At the institution, he was also a member and participated in KVR News team. He was bitten by the forecasting bug at his childhood and started chasing storms in Tornado Alley as soon as he got his teenage driver’s license. Afterward, Palmer worked as a meteorologist at KLTV 7 in Tyler, Texas for about 8 years and 6 months since August 1999. He also served as  a news reporter, weekend and morning news anchor for four years before transitioning to dual role as special projects reporter and weekend meteorologist.

Moving to Estero, Florida in May 2009, Morgan was a consulting meteorologist at U.S. Weather Consultants, Inc. for a year and 11 months. He was providing agricultural weather forecast services, tropical weather event forecasting and consultation to public agencies and private business, and forensic weather research and services to the legal profession. The meteorologist joined WBBH/WZVN, Waterman Broadcasting Of Florida LLC in Fort Myers, Florida in January 2008 for 3 years and 4 months. He was responsible for preparing afternoon and evening forecast and presenting on WBBH NBC2 News at 11 a.m., Noon and 4 p.m. weekdays. Moreover, Morgan also contributed to sister station WZVN ABC 7.

Chief Meteorologist Palmer joined KIRO 7 in April 2011 after a shift as a meteorologist and news anchor in Texas and Florida working for about 3 years and 8 months. Morgan served for all weekend editions of KIRO 7 Eyewitness News and fill-in for all other dayparts. Furthermore, he was also a host of twice-weekly online weather webchats and contributor to kirotv.com and KIRO 7’s social media platforms. In November 2014, he elevated to being a weekeday morning meteorologist for KIRO 7 Eyewitness News weekdays 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. and Noon for a year. Currently, he now serves as the full-time chief meteorologist for the station since October 2015 forecasting on weeknights at 5, 5:30, 6, 7 and 11 p.m.

Palmer has the Seals of Approval from the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and the National Weather Association (NWA). Currently, he serves as Broadcast Meteorology Committee chair for the NWA  since December 2021 and was previously the chair of the NWA Seal of Approval Committee from January 2019 to November 2021.
