Nick Monacelli Career
At a young age, Monacelli assisted in the production of a conversation program for teenagers at Shelby TV, the neighborhood station in Shelby Township. The show ended quickly, but his passion for TV persisted. Nick began reporting there less than a year later after studying under radio pioneer Philip Nye.
Later on, he graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast News. He remained in Grand Rapids after receiving his degree and reported for WZZM while also instructing an undergraduate news workshop course at GVSU. He relocated to California in 2009 after being persuaded by the corporation to do so. The Sacramento Kings’ potential relocation was one of the most important topics he covered while traveling the nation. He was present when the San Francisco Giants swept the Tigers in the 2012 World Series, in case you were wondering (sorry!). Nick worked as a reporter at WZZM 13 in Grand Rapids before moving to Sacramento.
Despite the myths, he claims he couldn’t ask for a better profession.”Everyone wants to know if my job is anything like “Anchorman” when they inquire about it. I often respond, “Well, there aren’t any fights in the newsroom (at least not physical ones), we don’t high-five each other until no one else is there, and we don’t deliberately harm a coworker’s career” (I would hope not). Both the competitive edge and the laziness on set are undeniably comparable. Additionally, you can always hear someone singing or laughing at their workstation.” You can also read about the following people that Monacelli works with at WDIV.
