Nicole Sullivan Biography
Nicole Sullivan is an American actress and comedian. She portrays Carol Finkle in HBO Max’s The Sex Lives of College Girls. Sullivan is best known for her six seasons (1995–2001) on the sketch comedy program MADtv. In five seasons (2001-2005, 2007) of the CBS sitcom The King of Queens, she also portrayed Holly Shumpert. On Scrubs, Sullivan portrayed the recurrent role of Jill Tracy.

Sullivan served as the class treasurer her whole junior year of high school. She participated in student government, played soccer in high school, and kept statistics for the guys’ basketball team. Sullivan entered Northwestern University in 1987 as a theatrical major after graduating from Middleburgh. She worked two jobs to pay for college while studying Greek tragedies, William Shakespeare, Harold Pinter, Anton Chekhov, and Henrik Ibsen. She also wrote plays and sketches for the student theater.
Sullivan studied at the British American Drama Academy during her junior year in London, where she also joined the Greenwich Shakespeare Company. Sullivan earned an honors degree from Northwestern before relocating to Los Angeles to launch a television career. Nicole Sullivan has a long history of both voice acting and traditional on-camera acting. Sullivan was a part of the first MADtv cast when it debuted in 1995. Her most well-known creation, the vindictive Vancome Lady, was one of many characters she invented. Other characters in the show by Sullivan were the X-News reporter Amy, the stupid Antonia, the leader of the Eracists Debbie, the News at 6 reporter Diane Lawyer-Trabajo (pronounced “trebalyo”), the racist country singer Darlene McBride, and the Latina bimbo Lida.
In a MADtv skit about creating an audition tape to appear on Law & Order that made fun of their acting skills, Sullivan co-starred with Michael McDonald; she later had a cameo appearance in the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit season one episode “Contact.” The Making Music Magazine’s November/December 2009 issue included a profile of Sullivan.
King of Queens
From 2001 until 2005, Sullivan portrayed Holly Shumpert on television. She made a comeback in 2007 to repeat the part for the season finale. Holly’s occupation during most of the program is as a dog walker. Carries’ father, Arthur, needs to get some exercise and be kept somewhat out of mischief, so the Heffernans pay her to “walk” him.
