Pat Battle co-anchors “Weekend Today in New York,” which airs on NBC 4 New York on Saturdays between 6:00 A.M. – 7:00 A.M. and 9:00 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. as well as on Sundays between 6:00 A.M. – 8:30 A.M. and 10:00 A.M. – 10:30 A.M. Battle is also the senior New Jersey correspondent for the station. She was recognized with an Edward R. Murrow award and a National Emmy® for her work covering Hurricane Sandy for NBC 4.

Pat Battle Career

Battle currently contributes to WNBC 4 News. She earned a degree from the University of Maryland’s College Park School of Journalism. The award-winning COVID-19 coverage by NBC 4 New York, which featured Battle’s reporting and anchoring as a key element, was recognized in January 2021 with the prestigious Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award for “creat(ing) a 360 view in real time of the coronavirus pandemic, with courageous and thorough reporting on the virus’s explosion in New York City.” The duPont Award, given by Columbia University as well, is widely acknowledged as the Pulitzer Prize of the broadcast, documentary, and online worlds.
