From December 2000 to January 2004, Sinha was a reporter covering central Virginia at NBC29 WVIR-TV in Charlottesville. He later moved to Plattsburgh, New York in February 2004 working as a reporter at WPTZ Newschannel 5 for 2 years and 6 months. Ranji worked as one of the lead reporters on Newschannel 5 covering Northern New York State, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Quebec at times. Further, he as well covered a host of issues ranging from economic development to international border security.

Ranji Sinha joined KIRO 7 in August 2017 and has spent several years covering the Pacific Northwest for KIRO 7’s evening and morning newscasts. Now he has transitioned to our Live desk Coverage in the morning, tracking breaking news and developing stories as they happen. Ranji spent the past several years reporting for our AM newscasts covering all kinds of stories from COVID-19 to the protests in 2020. He has also been part of KIRO 7’s Emmy-nominated coverage of the Dupont train derailment in December 2017 and the Port Orchard Tornado in December 2018.

Ranji was also one of our main reporters on the continuing coverage of the grounding of the Boeing 737 Max, as well as the hunt for suspects who have attacked several Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Halls in the South Sound. Ranji came to KIRO 7 from News 12 New Jersey, the 24-hour news in Northern New Jersey, where he honed skills for breaking news and quick story turns in the fast-paced New York Market. He’s also worked at the CBS affiliate in Western Michigan, as well as NBC stations in Burlington, Vermont-Plattsburgh, New York, and Charlottesville, Virginia.

When he’s not working, Ranji enjoys spending time with his family but is a huge fan of TV and film, and also a big sports fan.
