She is married to her high school sweetheart, Elly. The couple tied the knot on 9nth September 2019. They have been together for more than seven years now. Sam asked Elly to senior prom in High School by singing “Marry You” by Bruno Mars. By having it performed at their Gannon’s Wedding, they completed the cycle!

Gannon currently contributes to FOX 4 News. Funny thing is, Gannon is a Boston native who grew up with her father watching Cowboys games in the early 1990s. She does not support the Patriots, so no. Gannon, though, continues to support the Celtics, Red Sox, and Bruins in Boston. Samantha has always competed in swimming, even during her first year at the University of Connecticut. Gannon had a large hole to fill when she made the decision to give up swimming. She decided to pursue journalism because of this. Gannon desired to share other athletes’ stories and live vicariously through them.

When Gannon relocated to Lake Charles, Louisiana to work as the weekend sports anchor at KPLC-TV, she had her first on-air break. Moving from New England to the Deep South was definitely a cultural adjustment. Ha-ha. But it was an excellent one. That, in Gannon’s opinion, was the most radical step she could have taken to launch her broadcasting career. She will always be grateful for the event because it changed her life.


After moving to OKC (also known as Oklahoma City), Gannon worked as the weekend sports anchor and reporter at KOKH-TV FOX 25 for the last six years. Gannon’s REAL introduction to high-level collegiate football came at that point. It was fantastic to cover Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, two prominent D1 programs. Naturally, they also had the Oklahoma City Thunder. Samantha still gets upset when she remembers how close she came to covering her first NBA Finals in 2016 (Game 6 WCF vs. Golden State – Heartbreak City). Gannon will always remember his playoff run.

When you’re ready for a change, you always know it. Gannon developed a second home in OKC, but she was ready for fresh adventures. With the Cowboys, Gannon may finally fulfill a lifelong dream of covering the NFL. Additionally, there are the Mavericks, Rangers, Stars, and Wings. People here LOVE sports because this is a pro sports town. Gannon is incredibly fortunate to work with a veteran journalist like Mike Doocy, who is also quite entertaining. Free 4 Every show is a distinct genre. It differs in a positive way. Samantha hopes you’ll come along for the adventure since they have a special opportunity to provide viewers with 30 minutes of sports from Monday through Friday. Gannon is thankful for her position and eager to advance in her career as a writer.
