Spencer went to DePauw University and graduated with a degree in English Writing and a minor in Media Studies. After college, Spencer started her career as a multimedia journalist in southwestern Michigan and Northern Indiana before quickly moving up through the ranks. She joined FOX6 in 2017 as a general assignment reporter, moved to weekend anchor, and now anchors mornings for FOX6 WakeUp.
During her time there, Suzanne was honored for her great work by the Associated Press. She also won first place in best feature and other awards for best series and best-continuing coverage. In addition, she covered several big stories which include, a corruption case against a local sheriff and a shooting that left two bailiffs dead at a Michigan courthouse.
