Timothy Knapp is an  American journalist currently working as the Chief Photographer and Supervisor of Videography at Gray Television Washington News Bureau since September 2018. He joined the station still in September 2018 as Studio Manager and Photojournalist for one month. Previously, he was a news photographer, editor, and web technician at Mobile Video.

From January 1998 to January 1999, he was a college representative in Polygram Music Distribution and was the manager of college radio promotion for Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma. Timothy also did shipping product, promoting tours, and college activities, and was voted best distributor of the year.  In January 2001 for a year and a month, he was an intern at Fox Sports Net Southwest doing a live studio camera, editing and game logging for the Southwest Regional Sports Report.  Knapp was also a news photographer and a field tech at KXXV (ABC) from 2003 to 2004 and a photographer and editor at Sinclair Broadcast Group for 4 years since 2004. 

Moving to Washington D.C. Metro Area, Timothy became a news photographer, editor and a web technician at Mobile Video for 10 years and 2 months since 2008. He later joined the Gray Television Washington News Bureau in September 2018 as a studio manager and photojournalist and now serves as a  full-time supervisor of videography and chief photographer. Over his career years, Knapp has made coverage of major political and news events like four presidential inaugurations, first response, and recovery efforts for FEMA. He also made coverage on the opening of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture. When Tim is not working, you can find him golfing or bass guitaring, or even working on restoring his 100-year-old row house.
