Francisco had been very uncomfortable with her weight, she had grown too big and says she hated every photo she took and would not even post it on social media. However, on her last birthday, Tonya decided to join the Heat Challenge as she wanted something to motivate and drive her on. In that competition, she watched other people lose weight and that motivated her even more. She would work out 5-6 days a week and sometimes two times a day.
Tonya was able to lose 45 pounds just like that, what did she do differently? She cut down on wheat, and generally did meal prep, she did a lot of exercises, practiced intermittent fasting, and cut down on sugar. Her starting weight was 215 pounds which was the biggest she had ever been, her current weight is 77kg/170 pounds. Her goal weight was 175 lbs and she hopes to get to 165 lbs and remain right there, her height is 5’6.

Francisco went to Whitney Young Magnet High School and later joined the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is a native of Chicago and an American citizen. Francisco worked at WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, Michigan, as a reporter and associate producer. She then worked at WJRT-TV in Flint, Michigan for one year. Tonya is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the National Association of Black Journalists.

Tonya worked at CLTV in December of 2002 and was soon after named morning anchor, prior to that she was a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor for WGN-TV. She then joined the WGN News team in 2012. Francisco is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the National Association of Black Journalists.
