Matich went to Rio American High School in Sacramento, California playing for his high school football team in his senior year. Afterward, Trevor Anthony Matich enrolled at Brigham Young University and played for Brigham Young University where he was a two-time all-conference offensive lineman in the Western Athletic Conference. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Trevor went on a mission to Torreon, Mexico serving as an LDS after his second season at BYU. He then helped his team win the 1984 NCAA football championship as their starting center.
In his professional career, Matich was drafted by the New England Patriots in the first round of the 1985 NFL Draft. He later injured his ankle in his first game and missed the rest of the season as a rookie. After about four seasons with the Patriots, Anthony was now playing for the Detroit Lions, New York Jets, Indianapolis Colts, and Washington Redskins. Above all, Trevor also played in the NFL for 12 seasons as a long snapper, and while in Indianapolis Colts he was nicknamed the Hardest Working Man in Pro Football.

In the Spring of 1998, Matich called NFL-Europe games and the Air Force-Navy game for the Military Channel that fall. In the 1999 and 2000 seasons, he scheduled the nationality broadcast college games for Fox Sports Net and joined the CBS Sports NFL team in 2001. He currently analyzes the Redskins for Comcast SportsNet Washington where he has won nine Emmy awards. Additionally, Trevor is employed by ESPN, primarily working on ESPN’s College Football coverage along with appearances on Sports Center. Matich joined ESPN’s Radio, College GameDay in 2007, the day-long noon to 7 p.m. channel that covers action, analysis, opinion, updates, and reports from key games.
